Overview

Island Peak Climbing with Everest Base Camp Trekking is a technical trip, including moderate snow and ice climbing while ascending a 6189 meters. Island peak is located in the Khumbu region, which is regarded as gentle climbing Peak. The local people in this region are friendly, and the views are magnificent. The diverse cultural traditions, heritages and customs as well as the hospitalities are further attractions of the climbing trip of Island Peak. The impressive Himalayan ranges of Everest region as Mt. Everest, Lhotese, Ama Dablam, Lobuche and other snow capped Mountains offer you the extreme satisfaction of the trip.

With the Himalayan flight to Lukla, the trekking begins on heading towards the Dudh Koshi River and entering into the Sagarmatha National Park from Jorsalle. Then we reach the beautiful Sherpa village and the gateway of Everest region- the Namche bazaar by the steep climb up. The Tengboche Monastery is highly located artistic Gompa in Nepal. From here we can see the Everest Himalayan panoramas like Ama Dablam, Mount Everest, and Lhotse. The itineraries of Island Peak with Everest Base Camp Trekking leads to the incredible places as Everest Base Camp and Kalapatthar and stay at Gorakshep. Then the trekking descends towards the Imja Khola and Chhukung. The tough trek to the Island Peak Base Camp and summit the Peak are memorable trip in the Khumbu region. From the top of the Peak we can see Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam, South Face of Lhotse and Makalu. The trip ends in Lukla and fly back to Kathmandu. The alpine flora and fauna along with rocky landscape are the side attractions of the trip. It is an opportunity to feel the Himalayan lifestyle of the Sherpa people too.

Day 01:  Arrive in Kathmandu (1300m).

Day 02:  Kathmandu: Sightseeing and climbing trip Preparation.

Day 03: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla and trek to Phakding (2610 m): 4-5 hrs.

Day 04: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440m): 5-6 hrs.

Day 05: Rest and acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar.

Day 06: Namche Bazaar to Tyangnboche (3867m): 5-6 hrs.

Day 07:  Tengboche to Pheriche (4200m): 4-5 hrs.

Day 08:  Pheriche to Lobuche (4930m): 5-6 hrs.

Day 09:  Lobuche to Everest Base Camp (5364m) and back to Gorakshep (5170m): 6-7 hrs

Day 10:  Hike up to Kala Patthar (5545m) and back to Lobuche (4940m): 7-8 hrs.

Day 11:  Lobuche to Chhukung (4730m) via Dingboche: 5-6 hrs.

Day 12:  Chhukung to Island Peak Base Camp (5200m): 3-4 hours.

Day 13: Summit the Island Peak and back to Base Camp (5600m): 10-11 hrs.

Day 14:  Island Peak Base Camp to Pangboche (3985m): 5-6 hrs.

Day 15:  Pangboche to Namche Bazaar: 4-5 hrs.

Day 16: Namche Bazaar to Lukla.

Day 17: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu.

Day 18: Rest Day and Shopping in Kathmandu.

Day 19: Final Departure.

Full itinerary

Day 01:  Arrive in Kathmandu (1300m).

Namaste and welcome to the Himalayan country of Nepal. Our company’s representative receives you at the international airport in Kathmandu. Then, transfer to the hotel and rest. Walk around the local places in the evening. O/N at Hotel.

Day 02:  Kathmandu: Sightseeing and climbing trip Preparation.

After breakfast, we set off for the Kathmandu city sightseeing tour. We visit the famous Hindus and Buddhists’ monuments that are also enlisted in UNESCO world heritage sites. They are Pashupatinath (the great pilgrimage site for Hindus), Bouddhanath (Buddhists’ Stupa), Swoyambhunath (Buddhists’ Stupa) and Kathmandu Durbar Square (where the living goddess lives). Back to the hotel and prepare for the treks. O/N at Hotel.

Day 03: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla and trek to Phakding (2610 m): 4-5 hrs.

We fly to Lukla from Kathmandu in the early morning. After arriving to Lukla, we gradually head towards the Phakding, following the main trail above the Dudh Koshi River. Crossing some of the ethnic settlements, we arrive at Phakding. O/N at lodge.

Day 04: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440m): 5-6 hrs.

Now we march off to the Sherpa Village- the Namche Bazaar. It is a gateway of the Khumbu region and a very busy place. The trail enters into the Sagarmatha National Park from Jorsalle. It is a fantastic walk from this place through the rhododendron flowers and blue pine forest. O/N at Lodge.

Day 05: Rest and acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar.

It is a day of acclimatization. After breakfast, we set off to visit the surrounding places and landscape. On our hiking, we reach to the Everest View Hotel and see the dramatic Himalayan views of Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam and Lhotse, majestic Khumbu peaks, and then return to the Namche Bazaar. O/N at Lodge.

Day 06: Namche Bazaar to Tyangnboche (3867m): 5-6 hrs.

After breakfast, we walk to the Tengboche, our final destination. Following the ridge of the Dudh Koshi River and viewing the incredible panoramas, we enjoy our trek. After 5-6 hours gradual walk, we arrive at Tengboche. We explore the monastery around the late afternoon. O/N at Lodge.

Day 07:  Tengboche to Pheriche (4200m): 4-5 hrs.

We get up in the early morning today. The view of the Tengboche monastery is outstanding. Then we descend to the River through the forest. Crossing the stream, we walk through the rugged trail. Crossing the Pangboche village, we walk up gradually towards the Pheriche. It has got some basic facilities. O/N at Lodge.

Day 08:  Pheriche to Lobuche (4930m): 5-6 hrs.

After breakfast, following the main trail through the River side, we reach Dugla.  Crossing the stream, we walk on the Khumbu Glacier. Then we continue our walk on the rugged landscape. We can see a memorial on the way, which is dedicated to the dead members during the trip due to natural accident or due to the high altitude. With enjoying the white peaked Mountains, we reach Lobuche. O/N at Lodge.

Day 09:  Lobuche to Everest Base Camp (5364m) and back to Gorakshep (5170m): 6-7 hrs

Today, we reach to the Everest Base Camp via Gorakshep after a long walk. After taking some photographs, we trek down to our campsite at the Gorakshep. Of course, the views are incredible. We can see the high Mountain climbers (to summit Mt. Everest) waiting for the appropriate climate. We take a rest and enjoy the hot meal at Gorakshep. O/N at Lodge.

Day 10:  Hike up to Kala Patthar (5545m) and back to Lobuche (4940m): 7-8 hrs.

In the early morning, we hike up to the Kalapatthar to view the sunrise over the Mt. Everest. It is no doubt very much stunning. Also the climb is tough through the rocky trail. The breathtaking views from here are of Mt. Everest, Khumbutse, Changtse, Nuptse and other surrounding Peaks and Glaciers. The views are more exciting than from the Everest Base Camp. Then we descend to the Gorakshep, and trek further to the Lobuche. O/N at Lodge.

Day 11:  Lobuche to Chhukung (4730m) via Dingboche: 5-6 hrs.

Today, we have a gentle climb down towards a small Glacial stream named Imja Khola. Following the Ridge of the Imja Khola, we reach to the beautiful Sherpa village. Then we prepare our arrangement for the following day. We are marching towards our huge destination to climb the Island Peak. O/N at Lodge.

Day 12:  Chhukung to Island Peak Base Camp (5200m): 3-4 hours.

After breakfast, we head towards the steep climb up the trail with the view of Mt. Lhotse. The rugged route via Imja and Amu Lapcha Glacier ridge leads us to our today’s campsite- Island Peak Base Camp. O/N at Lodge.

Day 13: Summit the Island Peak and back to Base Camp (5600m): 10-11 hrs.

It is the main day of our trip. We get up in the early morning and head towards the rocky trail.Sometimes we have more steep climb up and sometimes pretty gentle route. Gradually, the steep climb leads us to the summit bu using the rope on the Glacial range.From the top, we can view and take photographs of Everest Himalayan panoramas and continually descend to the base camp. O/N at Camp.

Day 14:  Island Peak Base Camp to Pangboche (3985m): 5-6 hrs.

Relatively, today we have a gentle walk. We descend to the Khumbu stream and pass two sherpa villages- Orsho and Shomare. We can view the wonderful Himalayan range of Thamserku, Kongde Peak and Ama Dablam. After a gentle walk, we reach to the Pangboche. O/N at Lodge.

Day 15:  Pangboche to Namche Bazaar: 4-5 hrs.

After breakfast, we descend to the Imja Khola and continue our walk towards the Namche Bazaar. Heading through the rhododendron and Juniper forest, we reach the Sansa. Continually, we reach to the scenic settlement of the Sherpa- the Namche Bazaar. O/N at Lodge.

Day 16: Namche Bazaar to Lukla.

After a breakfast, we gradually trek down through the side of Namche Bazaar and steep climb down to the Phakding. We exit from the Khumbu region and the Sagarmatha National Park. After about three hours walk over the Dudh Koshi River, we arrive at Lukla. O/N at Lodge.

Day 17: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu.

In the early morning, we fly to Kathmandu from Lukla. It is a beautiful view of green hills, gorges and streams. Arrive at the airport and transfer to the hotel. O/N at Hotel.

Day 18: Rest Day and Shopping in Kathmandu.

On our rest day after a long climbing trip, we move around the local tourist market and buy present to the relatives and family members. In the evening, we can set off to visit around the locality. O/N at Hotel.

Day 19: Final Departure.

After long days of our accompaniment, we bid you farewell today. Or move to another place if we have more itineraries to do or extra activities. If we don’t have, our representative drops you at the international airport for your departure. Thanks for joining us for your memorable trip. See you.
Note: Due to the bad weather, the climbing and the flight can be postponed. So, it is better to have some more extra days for the trip.
